1. About Farm Marketplace
Farm Marketplace is a platform connecting consumers directly with UK farmers. We are not a retailer — we provide the technology that enables farmers to sell their own produce directly to customers.
2. Our Role
Farm Marketplace acts as an intermediary. The contract of sale is between the buyer and the farmer. We process payments and charge a 5% commission on each transaction. We do not handle, store, or ship any products.
3. Seller Obligations
Farmers listing on Farm Marketplace must: (a) be a genuine UK working farm producing the goods they sell; (b) comply with all applicable food safety and hygiene regulations; (c) provide accurate product descriptions, including allergens; (d) ship orders within the stated timeframe; (e) handle customer complaints promptly; (f) maintain appropriate insurance.
4. Buyer Rights
Buyers have the right to: (a) receive products as described; (b) cancel orders for non-perishable goods within 14 days under the Consumer Contracts Regulations; (c) a full refund for damaged, spoiled, or incorrect items; (d) contact the seller directly regarding any issues.
5. Payments & Commission
All payments are processed securely through Stripe. Farm Marketplace charges a 5% commission on the total order value. The remaining amount is paid to the farmer. Payments to farmers are processed after order confirmation, typically within 7 days.
6. Shipping & Delivery
Farmers are responsible for shipping products to buyers. Delivery times and costs are set by each farmer and displayed on the product page. Farm Marketplace is not liable for delivery delays caused by couriers.
7. Perishable Goods
Due to their nature, perishable goods (fresh meat, dairy, vegetables, fruit, etc.) are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right once delivered, unless they arrive damaged or spoiled.
8. Limitation of Liability
Farm Marketplace is not liable for: (a) the quality, safety, or legality of products listed by farmers; (b) the accuracy of product descriptions provided by farmers; (c) any illness or injury resulting from consumption of products; (d) delivery failures by third-party couriers. Our total liability is limited to the commission earned on the relevant transaction.
9. Intellectual Property
All content on the Farm Marketplace website, including text, graphics, logos, and software, is our property or licensed to us. Farmers retain ownership of their product images and descriptions.
10. Account Termination
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraudulent activity, consistently receive poor reviews, or list products they did not produce.
11. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance. We will notify active users of material changes via email.
12. Governing Law
These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
